| EFFICIENCY!
That is the hallmark of the curriculum that Jerry Phelps - Sensei teaches to his students in their Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu techniques. Notice how relaxed Mr Phelps is as he controls his partner with a painful shoulder lock. These techniques are ideal for one-on-one combat when it ends up going to the ground. What is important to realize is that statistically; MOST fights end up going to the ground, so having ground fighting skills is an imperative. This is why at the Aikido School of Self-Defense our students receive an education in Ground Fighting techniques as well as the Aikido principles. They are seamlessly blended into Nihon Goshinjutsu Aikido. |
